Galway Masters football is now in its sixth year and is run by Ger Ryan and Tommy Murphy, and is sponsored by Monroe's.
2019 Dates
- 14 teams entered
- Open Draw for 2 groups of 7 - draw was held in Monroe's 11th April 8.30pm
- Each team will have 12 league games, home and away.
- The competition will be totally finished by race week, which starts on Monday 29th July this year.
- League will start on Wed 17th April.
- League must finish Wed 10th July.
- The semi-finals are fixed for Wed 17th July.
- The FINALS will be in DEACY PARK subject to availability around 24th July (1 week before race week starting Monday 29th July).
Notes/Guidelines:
- Finals to be played in “Eamonn Deacy Park”, subject to availability
- Matches are mid-week, every week, normally Wednesdays.
- Roll-on, roll-off, unlimited substitutions, 45 minutes a side.
- Both teams come to an agreement for every group game, as long as they are played that week.
- Likely that referee will be appointed this year for all games.
- Home teams pay for referee, fee is €50 per game.
- League table maintained and updated for every match, on our website is www.GalwayOver35s.com, which has team photos, full match fixtures, results, league tables etc.
- The format, rules, start date, fees, full fixture list will all be agreed at a meeting between all clubs.
- Clubs need to arrange their own insurance for players.
Last year 2018 we had 15 teams, split into 2 divisions, with 10-weeks league fixtures played from 25th April to 27th June, followed by 6 Semi-Finals and 3 Finals, with 2 finals played in DEACY Park on 12th and 17th July and video recorded. 2018 Results were:
