Invite to all clubs (sent 11/3/2022)

The Galway FA are inviting all clubs to confirm if they wish to enter a team into the Galway Over 35s for the summer season 2022.

Please reply by Sunday 20th March if your club is:

• Interested in entering an "Over 35s Premier" team

and/or

• Interested in entering an "Over 35s Division 1" team

Over 35 Competitions

1. "Over 35s Premier" is designed to cater for players who still play Junior football, or players who want to play with and against stronger teams.
2. "Over 35s Division 1" is designed as a recreational league, and players registered in any junior team from Sept-2021 onwards will be ineligible to play.

All Fees payable to "Galway FA".

1. Team affiliation fee of €50 - due 31st January 2022
2. Player registration fee is €15 per player, payable to "Galway FA". Players must register on FAINet and provide photo ID if they are a first issue.

Rules specific to "Over 35s Premier"

1. Existing Junior players will be allowed to also register for O35s Premier for the same club.
2. Any existing Junior players wishing to play for another O35 club must wait for 1st June transfer window to open.

Rules specific to "Over 35s Division 1"

1. No players registered in any junior team from Sept-2021 onwards will be eligible to play in  "Over 35s Division 1" (PS: they are not excluded; can play O35 Premier)
2. There is no mechanism to unregister.

Notes

1. Finals to be played in “Eamonn Deacy Park”, subject to availability and weather.
2. All players will need to register for O35s via FAInet.
3. Matches are mid-week, every week, normally Wednesdays.
4. Roll-on, roll-off, unlimited substitutions, 45 minutes a side.
5. Both teams come to an agreement for every group game, as long as they are played that week.
6. Referee will be appointed for all games.
7. Home teams pay for referee, fee is €50 per game.
8. The format, rules, start date, fees, full fixture list will all be agreed at a meeting between all clubs.
9. Clubs need to arrange their own insurance for players.
